When you follow our blog, fill out our contact form, request a demo, or apply for Registered Use of the Sensing Clues platform, we use your details solely to get in touch with you. Rest assured, this personal information remains securely in our mailbox. If you are accepted as a Registered User, your personal data will be stored in our secure database.

Your data is securely stored in MarkLogic's Security Database, recognised as the world’s most secure NoSQL database.

Your motivation or reason for contacting us

Your activities on our website
If you make a donation, we collect your first and last name and email address. If the donation is made on behalf of your organisation, we also request the name of the organisation.
We also use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports, helping us track and fix stability issues and improve the quality of the Cluey app.

You retain ownership of the data you collect. As the data owner, you are responsible for complying with privacy laws and regulations when using the Sensing Clues platform. Therefore, Sensing Clues is not liable for any privacy-related information recorded by users of the platform.
Below is a summary of the data you may collect when using the Cluey Data Collector App:
Account Information: Your email, username, and permission to access your GPS, camera, and photo library. When you invite members to your Groups, their emails and usernames are also recorded.
Observations: When you create and share an observation, location, date and time, observation tags, any photos, and any free-text notes will be recorded.
Tracking: If you use the tracking function, your GPS location is collected in the background to track your routes accurately, along with the type of track you’ve selected. You can enable or disable this function at any time within the Cluey Data Collector App.
If you upload data to the Sensing Clues platform via Upload Service, any potentially privacy-sensitive data will be governed by the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) you sign as part of the Premium Subscription Plan.

We collect the personal data mentioned above to stay in touch with you, keep you informed, and provide you with access to our Sensing Clues platform for nature conservation and wildlife protection.

Yes, but only when legally required or for administrative purposes:
Bank: To process payments.
Administrator: To manage our administration.
Website hosting provider: To store your data.

We have agreements in place with all these partners to ensure your privacy is respected. Additionally, we may share anonymised or pseudonymised data (older than 6 months) with our research partners. This helps develop insights, methods, algorithms, and tools to fullfill our mission of turning wild spaces into safe havens.

We retain your data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. Specifically:
Existing clients: Personal data will be kept no longer than two years after the termination of our agreement.
Potential clients: Personal data will be kept no longer than two years after our initial contact.
Exception: As required by Dutch law, we are obligated to retain administrative and personal data, including names, addresses, and invoices, for a period of seven years.
